Have fun in NYC! I have only been once but it was so cool to see.

Turning 40 was harder for me

than 30 was too. I am not sure exactly why but I think partly because for the first time I really felt like I was getting older. My husband had the same feeling about 30 versus 40. There has been a lot of great experiences in my 40’s and feel like I continue to grow and come into my own which is refreshing. Perimenopause is a little bitch but working my way through that 🤪

hahahhaha i literally have one of those tests in my amazon cart that tells you if you're going through perimenopause becauseeee ... yeah, things are changing!! I also want to take a dutch test and see what that says from a hormonal standpoint. did you do either of those to figure out that you're in perimenopause? sorry if that is too personal [feel free to message me directly if you want to share 'behind closed doors' so-to-speak].

but yeah, i feel like aging is equal parts freeing and scary :)

I haven’t done either of those. I have an appointment with a perimenopause specialist but it’s a ways out unfortunately. So not an official diagnosis but now I want to order one of these tests as well. I just have a long list of symptoms and can tell it started earlier than I realized. Big ones for me are anxiety, irritability, brain fog, memory issues, sleep, thinning hair, and headaches.

Death has always been a huge trigger for my anxiety, and I have no idea why! I guess something to dig in with my therapist about 😅 you’re not alone! Hope you have a great time for your birthday in NYC- have a slice for me 🤍

Wow! I’ll be 50 in about 2 weeks! Totally agree with everything you wrote about death. I lost my Mother in 2004 and really have felt lost ever since and at times i feel despair and have to shake myself to realize I have so much more living to do. Have fun in NYC!

We were around the same age, then, when our mom's died. I relate to that 'have to shake myself' kind of feeling. I have to remember that thoughts aren't truth. Whew, life gets more and more wild as the years go on :) Thanks for the well wishes for our trip xx
