'See You Sunday' Newsletter | vol. 17
a little peak at what brought me joy this past week plus a few new-in buys for summer!
Hi friends!
What a week! I don’t know about y’all but, for me, it literally flew by. We got these sweet family photos back from our friend, Jordan, who owns a studio in Jacksonville Beach. She did such a lovely job capturing our sweet fam at this precious stage … I’ll have to do a little roundup of them in an upcoming post.
I hope you all enjoyed celebrating the Dad’s in your life today and, of course, I’m sending lots of love to those that find this day difficult. We went out to breakfast and celebrated John then went to my Dad’s to see and celebrate him. Louie and Lawson are both spoiled with such great men in their lives. It warms my heart seeing both of them pour themselves into each of them.
I am still in recovery mode over here. I’m mostly feeling good but, wow, tonight, I definitely feel a little more sore and maybe like I overdid it a little bit this weekend. John and I are both finding that, wow … two kids and two dogs means that neither of us really get a chance to sit down at all on the weekends lol! Anyone else in that same boat?? Ha! It’s a full house but we wouldn’t have it any other way. Chaos just seems to be something we aim for so we just embrace it, ha! Anyway, thanks for checking out today’s newsletter. It’ll be a little shorter than last week but let me know what you want to see next week! xo.
Here’s what we are going over in today’s newsletter:
+ things that brought me joy this week
+ what i bought to fit my new postpartum body this week
+ recapping what you missed this week
Here’s what I have planned to share this week on Substack:
+ What I’m Doing Different During Postpartum This Time Around + Products Giving Me Life [free tier]

What’s Brought Me Joy This Week
This was a crazy week out in the world and I’d be lying if I said pretty much all of it brought up lots of emotions. While I am certainly not ignoring it, I did feel the need to remember to find joy in every day or hopelessness can easily start to set in. So, this week, here are a few things that brought me joy:
+ summer storms are starting to roll in each afternoon and it’s so cozy
+ even with the newborn juggle, i am finding it so much easier to accomplish things
+ with that said, i am getting closer and closer to being able to launch the first couple of services for the travel planning venture :)
+ we got an email we have been waiting on for quite a while from our immigration lawyer
+ dancing in the living room with Louie to an old performance of Brian Wilson from the Beach Boys performing ‘Barbara Ann’ … Louie loved it and had the biggest smile on his face the whole time
+ john and i watched Four Weddings and a Funeral last night and it was just so nice to relax on the couch and watch a movie together.. the juggle of life feels nonstop at the moment so, it felt like we got to slow down for an hour and a half, which was nice
What I Bought This Week
I gained 40+ pounds with both boys and I am still finding it hard to feel good in the clothing options I have available so I bought a few additional dresses to opt for as I have about 5 that have been in constant rotation for a while now. Here’s what I ended up grabbing:
+ Stripe Empire Waist Midi Dress: Pretty sure I will be living in this, wearing it multiple times a week.
+ Brown Flowy Midi Dress: I haven’t bought anything from ZARA in ages but this looks so perfect for Summer. How would you wear it? Scarf around your head, big sunnies, with a basket bag? Or a fun chunky bracelet stack?
+ Floral Print Dress [also here]: The more I look at the product photo of this one, the more vibrant the print is. I really like these colors together but do I think I’ll wear it enough. I might need to return it but I thought it was too cute not to just try it out and see what I think.
+ Organic Gauze Top + Shorts: I love a set and I am in desperate need of some shorts, or bottoms, that fit my new body. So, I’m trying out a couple of sizes and we’ll see how these look! Really cute for Summer, imo!
In case you missed it …
+ What I packed in my hospital bag for me as a second time mom — so many more product rec’s for pregnancy, baby, postpartum in my AMAZON Storefront
+ Lawson’s Birth Story plus a Q&A over on Instagram in the “Lawson” highlight
+ Five London restaurants you need to put on your list if you’re heading there soon … if you’re on the paid tier, you already got this one!
Alright, lovelies! That does it for me! Hope y’all have a great week and give me some ideas on what y’all wanna see in next weeks’ See You Sunday newsletter! Are y’all shopping the Nordstrom Sale this year, by the way? xo.
I have been eyeing the Zara dress for a while . I think I’m going to try it !
