'See You Sunday' Newsletter | v. 8
An exciting stand-out beauty sale, where we stayed in 30A plus my top restaurants recommendations and an update on our Rosie girl!
Hello, friends! I am so sorry for the radio silence around here this month. While it has been such a great month in the sense that I was so happy to have been able to go back to London and finally share something that has quite literally made me feel so much lighter in so many ways … it’s also been a really, really tough month behind-the-scenes.
Have you ever felt like you’ve kind of lost everything?
As a business owner and entrepreneur, I kind of feel like that right now. I feel like nothing that worked for me before is working anymore. Things have been crumbling for awhile but I really kind of feel like I am almost standing alone at the starting line, which I guess can feel exciting but, when you’re the matriarch, bread winner, life creator + manager, and dream holder … it can feel really daunting and overwhelming. [I am also 32 weeks pregnant so I don’t know how much of all the emotions I feel right now being tied to hormones but, wow, it’s a lot lol]
All that to say, if you are here … I hope you know it means a lot to me and I really, really appreciate it! I know I’m not always the most timely with my posting but, I’m really being shown right now just how I need to get some new team members alongside me to help with some of the things that keep falling by the wayside.
Anyway, we just got back from 30A yesterday and it was such a nice little breakaway to celebrate Louie. He is such a little joy and I cannot believe he is 4! I also can’t believe we’re are about to start this allll over again with a new, gorgeous little boy soon. I feel so excited and ready to meet this little one and equally as terrified and not ready in the slightest.
To be honest, Instagram has been a really hard place for me to be lately because everyone just seems to be on the ball, when I feel like I can’t even pick up the ball without it slipping out of my hands ha.. so, if you’re feeling similarly or you’re also pregnant right now and feel like you are behind … just know …
I have only half finished my registry [and the sprinkle my very sweet friend and step-sister organized for me is this weekend]
His nursery has absolutely nothing in it except for the glider we brought with us from England, and …
I have purchased literally nothing for him or myself postpartum
We will get through this season and, often, we’re not as far behind as we feel. At least that’s what I tell myself hahah
Alright, let me get out of my feels and get you this newsletter! I have a fun beauty sale to share plus all the info on our trip to 30A! Enjoy! xo.

30A: Where We Stayed + Restaurant Recommendations
Over the last ten years or so, a little miniature ‘highway’ along Gulf just outside of Destin, Florida has become quite the hot spot and for very good reason. It’s called ‘30A’ and many of you have likely either heard of it or have been … or will be going soon. It’s such a gem of a place and one I’ve been lucky enough to have ventured to quite a few times over the span of the time it has grown exponentially.
I’ve always raved about this little spot to John over the years so, when we were thinking about maybe going on a little weekend getaway to celebrate Louie’s 4th birthday, I immediately thought of 30A. My friend, Rachel [check out her Instagram here], has a rental property here and it just so happened to be open on the exact dates we were looking to get away. Meant to be!
It’s always a bit of a mission to get here, as it’s a five hour drive, but it’s always so worth it! Quite a few of you wanted to know what recommendations I have for this area, based on my own experience and what was recommended by followers on Instagram, so I thought I’d share a few today.
Keep in mind. This area has so much to enjoy so this is not an exhaustive list. Just a good little starting point!
There are so many little beach towns. I hear there are three main ones. Which ones are your favorite?
Out of the three main ones — Rosemary Beach, Alys Beach, and Seaside — I’d say my personal favorites are Rosemary and Alys. They’re so close together so being able to explore and enjoy both is super easy. You can take a golf cart between the two or bike and there are so many shops and restaurants to enjoy — and they’re the spots I personally prefer.
Where would you recommend eating?
There’s absolutely no way this could be an exhaustive list. So, here are just a few spots that are likely the most popular for you to just start with —
• Rosemary Beach: La Crema [sexy vibe; great for dinner], Gallions, The Pearl [brunch], Amavida [coffee], Pescado [rooftop drinks], Cowgirl Kitchen [lunch], CK Feed & Supply [great spot to grab dips and bits to keep at your condo for snacking]
• Alys Beach: OKU [drinks and dinner], The Citizen [brunch], George’s [dinner], Raw & Juicy [healthy brunch; has a playground for kids], Fonville Press [delicious coffee and breakfast / lunch]
• Seaside: Surfing Deer [great date night spot; fine for kids, too], Bud & Alley’s, tons of food trucks and ice cream shops, Black Bear Bread Co [coffee spot] or Amavida [coffee], Daytrader Tiki Bar & Restaurant
• Other spots along 30A: Cafe Thirty A, Roux 30A [looks so good], Crackings [brunch in Grayton], Old Florida Fish House [an institution, great for kids]
Where would you recommend staying? Where did you stay?
This is too difficult to answer without knowing the context of your particular trip - who you’re going with, the vibe you tend to like and appreciate on trips, whether kids are in your party or not, what the occasion of the trip is, etc. You can stay anywhere and you’ll have a good time with kids.
Seaside is probably, in my opinion, the most geared toward kids.
Rosemary and Alys are amazing for adult getaways, whether with friends or couples but also great for families. You see kids, their parents and their grandparents all together throughout the entire area.
Also, don’t discount Seabreeze and Watercolor, or any other beach in between the main ones. You can easily get around with a car, golf cart, and bikes and plenty of places to rent bikes and a golf cart, as well. Some rentals even come with them as long as you fill in the appropriate waivers before use.
HERE is a link to where we stayed. We personally liked it because it’s smack-dab in the middle of everywhere — equidistant from both Rosemary & Alys as well as the Seaside end of 30A.
If you’d like my help with a future trip to 30A, keep me in mind once my travel services launch. Since, you’re subscribed … you’ll be the first to know when!
An Update on Rosie
We get our Rosie girl back tomorrow!!! We are so excited! While I must admit, it’s been helpful to have her away at ‘finishing school’ this month because we have had so much on our to do list ahead of baby boy #2 arriving soon … we have really, really missed her. I can’t wait to see how much she’s grown and all that she has learned. The team has raved about how well she has done so, we look forward to picking her up tomorrow and going through our first training session as her pack leader, if you will. Ha, anyway, I will be sure to pop on with her tomorrow after we get her and keep you posted on how she’s doing! As long as we are happy with how well she settles back in with us, I will be sure to share where she went for anyone who happens to be local and is in need of a board + train option for their pet!
Alright, I think that does it for me! After a busy last few weeks, I look forward to getting back into more of a routine, which includes getting you the weekly newsletter on Sunday mornings so look forward to that moving forward. I don’t have any big travels ahead as we settle in and get ready to anticipate this little boy’s arrival in the coming month or so! We can’t wait to meet him and, if you happen to be pregnant, let me know if there’s any content you’d like me to put together around pregnancy / postpartum, etc!
Have a great week, lovelies! xo.
We live 5 minutes away from Alys Beach. Great list of recommendations!
