Not me tearing up at the last little bit specifically for your dad! Dads (and moms) definitely have that intuition. When I went through my recent (lol November 2022) breakup I was certain I didn’t want to move home, but financially it made sense. Moving back at 37 was not what I saw for myself but it was what I needed. I’m sure Mitch is thrilled to have you closer to home as your family continues to grow!!
I will never understand people who judge others for their circumstances. I can understand being jealous, but judging based on how a person chooses/gets to live their life is baffling to me. And AH! Always love a good Mitch story! I know not everyone has dads that are the best but really, dads are the best. Thanks for the update ♥️
Okay, this made me cry in a good way. Dad's truly are the best. I also unfortunately lost my Mom in 2012, there is just something special about that relationship with Dad afterwards. Happy for you and your growing family.
We are in a similar situation: after over a decade in the US, my husband and I (both European) decided to move back home to be closer to our family for the sake of our kids. It was hard to move because we loved living in the US so moving back has been a challenging adjustment but it’s great to see our kids’ relationship with their grandparents. Things were also hard for me job-wise in the US and moving back gave me more work opportunities. Our family helped us regarding housing so like you we feel very fortunate on that front. All that to say, it’s great to see someone going through the same thing so thanks for sharing the good, the difficult and everything in between. Hope to see more of your journey!
I read this entry this morning with my oldest daughter - she's 9 and we chatted after about how as parents we would do anything for her along with her sisters and explained how parents sometimes just know what their kids need and its our blessing to able to be there for them. This inspired a good talk about chasing her dreams one day. Your dad seems like a wise man! ;) Congrats on moving back...for now!
My husband, daughters and I would not be where we are today without the love, help and support during hard times that we received from my parents. They allowed us to follow our dreams and still live a happy and comfortable life as a family. I am so happy you have had that blessing as well
Wow you’re blessed with an amazing father. Hope all your dreams como true and one day go back to England but for the moment enjoy and grow as a family in Florida
Thank you so much! It is certainly not lost on me what a privileged position we are in and, of course, we are very grateful he had the foresight and ability to love on our family in this way x
